A Guitalele is a hybrid instrument that has the scale length of a baritone ukulele, six strings, and played like a guitar with a capo on the 5th fret. Tuned ADGCEA, where the top four strings are like a Low G ukulele. You can play all of the same chord shapes of a ukulele and guitar.
The Outdoor Guitalele™ is a carbon fiber composite polycarbonate travel guitalele with a 20" scale length, bolt-on neck, and compensated saddle for each string. Injection molded in hardened steel molds at very high heat and pressure with carbon fiber strands that give the instrument a natural grain structure, greatly increasing strength and acoustics.
Assembled with custom gold plated precision geared tuning machines, D'Addario multi-filament nylon silver plated copper bass strings with low tension nylon treble strings, and reusable box. Precision horn-shaped string slots have single point termination and provide an unstrained transition to the tuning machines. The action on the Outdoor Guitalele is 3.75mm to 4.00mm, similar to a classical guitar.
The Outdoor Guitalele™ uses the EJ43 D'Addario Pro-Arté Nylon Light Tension Strings and the Outdoor Guitar™ with standard E tuning uses the EJ44 D'Addario Pro-Arté Nylon Extra Hard Tension Strings. They are interchangeable.
